Southbank Centre's Unlimited Festival
September sees the much-anticipated return of Unlimited – Southbank Centre’s festival that celebrates the artistic vision and originality of disabled artists.
In 2012, Unlimited was one of the highlights of the Cultural Olympiad. Unlimited is now firmly embedded in Southbank Centre’s Festival cycle with the 2016 programme being announced from May this year.
Join us again for a festival of theatre, dance, music, literature, comedy and visual arts that celebrates difference with a spirit of artistic adventure, honesty and humour.
Unlimited aims to embed work by disabled artists within the UK and international cultural sectors, reach new audiences and shift perceptions of disabled people. Unlimited is delivered by the disability-led arts organisation Shape and arts producing organisation Artsadmin and funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, Arts Council of Wales and Creative Scotland. The British Council and Arts Council England supports additional activity internationally and Spirit of 2012 funds Unlimited Impact to support young people, geographic reach and ensure legacy. For 2016 the Unlimited programme will once again support disabled artists creating extraordinary work and will be showcased as part of Southbank Centre’s Unlimited Festival.
The full programme will be announced May 2016.
