About Unlimited Festival at Southbank Centre
Extraordinary new work by disabled artists
The first week in September sees the much-anticipated return of Unlimited – Southbank Centre’s festival that celebrates the artistic vision and originality of disabled artists. In 2012, Unlimited was one of the highlights of the Cultural Olympiad. Join us again for a mix of theatre, dance, music, literature, comedy and visual arts that celebrates difference with a spirit of artistic adventure, honesty and humour.
With their unique perspectives on the world, the Unlimited artists have created exciting new work - everything from a sex-romp comedy and the wildest dinner party you will ever attend to a circus show for all the family. Here are just some of our festival highlights. Full programme to be announced soon.
Unlimited was at the heart of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, celebrating the work of disabled artists on an unprecedented scale. In 2013, Shape and Artsadmin were awarded funding by Arts Council England and Creative Scotland to deliver a new three year programme with key partners including Southbank Centre, British Council, Spirit of 2012, Disability Arts Online and DaDaFest. Between 2014 and 2016 Unlimited will once again support disabled artists creating extraordinary work.
