The Doorways Project
Bekki Perriman’s Doorways Project explores homeless culture through photography and sound. It invites audiences to pay attention to the intimate, sometimes humorous, often disturbing and mostly ignored experiences of homeless people.
Inspired by the artist’s own experience of life on the streets, the project uses a direct and unsentimental approach to investigating the personal, social and political dimensions of homelessness and offers an opportunity to listen to society’s most silenced voices.
